Fabulous My Bloody Valentine gig, power cut out during the middle of Soon, so after fixing they started again and same thing happened in the middle, so 5 minute delay before ready for the last 3 songs, even allowed Kevin to chat to us very briefly. All part of the MBV charm.

Total organised noise annihilation but look at everyone's happy faces. 💜 My Bloody Valentine, Manchester.

The power on stage went... music stopped for 15 minutes while new cables etc. put in place. Plectrums were thrown... MBV Manchester.

I'm still getting messages from friends I missed, but it was good to see you, large gigs just have a random element like this. x

Something blew up... it takes too long to figure out where the link break is. So I think what they did is run all brand new cable and DI boxes for each instrument. It only took them 15 minutes, so swift. I took some footage which I need to post...

I've also never been there, the box made you think the sound wouldn't be good, but it was brilliant sound, I walked all around during Maria Somerville and sounded great from all sides. I think I must have been 7-10 rows back.

I missed you, I missed all my friends, I ran into Cath accidently she also was up front! And of course I was with a friend. We maybe should arrange an MBV pub chat ha, I have got other gigs I'm going to which will be less hectic...

Likewise, also a bit sad I missed people I know, a load of us went! The room was great. But with the toilets downstairs, you really didn't want to leave ha ha. So I went forward early, and didn't leave...

I could see all the band properly! And there was no crush, up there, all us small people were at the front ha ha. I won't have another view like this again, I made the most of it...

My favourite My Bloody Valentine song, at Aviva Manchester. Right up front this time but it didn't feel oversold at all. I used to play this track weekly on my radio program when it was first released. 🥲

Couldn't believe the size of the room (Aviva Studio Manchester but not a bit of it I've been in before) but My Bloody Valentine filled every corner with sound. Loud, yes, obviously but astonishingly clear. I'm actually no more deaf this morning than I usually am!

Ah that's cool to hear! I first saw her in Leeds at a small venue and you could get right on top of the band's intensity, small venue recommended. 👍

Huuuuuge playing the room reverb. 💛 you actually feel your clothes trembling from the bass frequencies... and still I heard these wild high drones.

Ahhhh fabulous you are going!! Their set absolutely worked in the large setting of 3Arena...

Not forgetting Maria Somerville, who was immense opening for MBV. Listen to how quiet, respectful the audience is! An Irish music fan in the queue behind me at the merch pop up recommended I catch her set; I replied I already loved her live and was pleased to see her in the immensity of a stadium!
