Oh, and “smelt” means to refine, as from ore. What the bad guys did was the opposite, to slightly debase the stolen gold, to disguise it and make it easier to sell on.

I was only able to get to MPCC for the first two days of the @usga Women’s Mid-Am. Two long days incl. 300+ miles/six hours driving, ≈18 hours onsite, for which I wrote three columns and got a total of 110 views. Was it worth it?

I agree. In 2020, as I began 4 years of WFH (leading up to retirement) two large houses across the street from me initiated consecutive (one then the other) ground-up rebuilds. I ended my working career to the sound of jackhammers, hammers, and saws, and now have 2 large ugly houses across from me.
