I just had an evil thought, imagine if a turn-based RPG had your crit rate affected by how quickly you choose what move to make, the faster you menu the more you crit.

was talking about this on stream recently but I think about how, with the Tales series effectively in a coma, it's rare that other RPGs try to yoink its battle systems, and the ones that do tend to mess it up in major or minor ways

and I wonder if it's because the key to LMBS is "fighting games"

In Legends, Sonia Belmont was the matriarch of the Belmont line, implied to be Trevor's mother. She was removed from canon when Lament of Innocence came out.

Reimagining her as Trevor's daughter would be clever.
