In 2014 I founded the @billericaycine.bsky.social and within a year we had one a national award for the "Best New Film Society". The cinema occupies quite a bit of my time - 179 films so far seen by over 8,500 people. Any money we make is donated to local community groups and charities.

beat the Conservative candidate by 1 vote and the 'kipper by .... lots. Have been a very active member of the Town Council, am currently Finance Chair and led the design, build and operation of our wonderful Chantry Centre. Am heavily involved in the running of the centre.

A bit about me. Fortunate to retire early, I was elected to Billericay Town Council in 2014 standing on an issue I felt strongly about. There was no chance of winning, but the aim was to highlight the issue. Lots of campaigning, a fascinating experience in Basildon at the count and after 2 recounts.
