Eileen Atkins. Such an acclaimed actress. I really enjoyed her episode in the original version of Alan Bennett's Talking Heads, "The Hand of God"

22.01.2026 23:07 β π 9 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I find episode 2 oddly soothing. One of the things about that whole series is that it captures the quiet bleakness of the early 1980s very well

Hi Rory - it seems someone on YouTube is trying to pass off your videos of Sophie as their own:

Ah memories! I remember as a kid, going on those flying swings at Metroland. People used to flick their shoes off (!)
27.05.2025 23:09 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I hadn't noticed that myself, always interesting though to spot influences. If indeed there is a touch of religion there, Lewis Goodall's style is perhaps a little more evangelical than CofE.
16.02.2025 08:36 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Interesting article. Lewis Goodall has a very noticeable style of writing / speaking doesn't he. He loves Anaphora, the "rule of three" and "climax" in his use of words. In this case the repetition of "Here was / is a vice president..." Often makes him sound like he's giving a sermon.

03.02.2025 23:12 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0So many of the programmes from the mid 80s really capture something. The kind of overgrown bleakness that was so ubiquitous back then.

How did you get in to the voiceover stuff?
Time for bed, but I'll leave you with this classic. Yet again, voiced by Mr Jayston:
