Chaos in Brighton Park. This is representative of the amount / direction of pepper and smoke sent into the neighborhood, in this case, for no reason I can discern other than because they were leaving. Feds had a clear path out in a different direction, and residents were vocal but not violent here.

This is a theme we keep repeating too. Until you see it for yourself, I think it’s hard to really understand how completely unnecessary and disproportionately violent the federal response has been.

How much is for fun, terror, or social media, I don’t know. A mix of the three for sure.

Lots of local govs maintain their own databases for this. A search of the person’s name and agency/title along with the state, municipality or county they work for often gets you some solid info.

Non-exhaustive list of cops in Broadview yesterday includes:

ICE, CBP + Border Patrol, BOP special ops, DEA special ops, ATF, HSI, FBI

IL state police, Cook Co sheriff's officers, Broadview PD, at least a dozen other suburban depts both individually and as part of NIPAS

Update: Ald. Fuentes held a presser this afternoon with other local electeds in response to this incident. She said the person the agents were arresting is a ~37 y/o man who broke his leg while being chased by ICE.

Fuentes told press ICE agents blocked attorneys from speaking to the man.
