Personally speaking, that fall from a massive railway viaduct into 3 feet of water after being shot in Skyfall would be enough to kill him, in my opinion.

12.11.2025 21:25 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Well how about a tank , I think it qualifies as a vehicle, though it too would be difficult to parallel park?
09.11.2025 14:51 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Just noticed The Long Memory is on Talking Pictures TV this afternoon.

#RemembranceDay

See you all next week

Whoever made wallpaper in the 50s and 60s must have made a fair bit of money.

Well that telephone conversation went okay.

Viagra hadn't been invented then, so men just went and killed time down the pub.

Not sure I'd describe Manchester as hell, despite its problems.
#thefilmcrowd
Evening everyone, starting soon.

I particularly like the 2nd symphony, I just think it sounds like (as in song without words), a soundtrack without a film. I can just imagine Richard Burton and Ava Gardner sailing off into the sunset as the closing bars emerge.
07.11.2025 19:31 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Is this going to be performed live in concert at some point, possibly at the @bridgewaterhall.bsky.social with the BBC Philharmonic?
If so, I wouldn't mind attending it.
Seems to like Bruckner too, I detected a strong hint of that in his score to Enigma, played I think on the movie by the Amsterdam Concertgebouw.
03.11.2025 20:09 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0That's not quite correct what was said there. The plough/big-dipper IS part of the constellation of Ursa Major, it's not just an asterism. Here, in a big light polluted city, is generally all you really see of it.
03.11.2025 17:24 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I had 3 of those excellent sets on vinyl LP. The 39 - 48 was very good, some of those symphonies weren't widely played at that time.
However, years later, I went to see the Philharmonia Hungarica live in concert and was a little disappointed.
This Schnittke isn't bad, better than the Berio that was on earlier.
30.10.2025 19:44 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I think Starmer's adopting the policy of ignoring him, which would be my advice. M*sk thrives on notoriety, best thing to do is to deny him of his craving for publicity.
30.10.2025 11:43 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Her and that Rupert thing make En**h P**ell seem like a reasonably moderate person with their constant unrelenting stream of racist nonsense.
26.10.2025 12:29 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Best of luck with your future ventures Matthew, it's always been one of my goto choices for Saturday afternoons over the last 12 years or so. Will look forward to this afternoon's presentation whilst constructing my forthcoming U3A talk on 21st-century film scores.
25.10.2025 09:34 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I'm not sure if anyone else had this, but I kept being bombarded by the same nicotine product advert every 15 minutes or so. It was a bit of a nuisance and meant I was several minutes behind by the end.π

Well, Diana's not happy.
#thefilmcrowd
Is anyone here?
Just a few woodwind players that's all.

Bruckner's 7th symphony in Senso.

History isn't their strong point Otto, neither is English, or Physics, or Economics etc
22.10.2025 14:35 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Bit of a Liebestod ending there.

Why didn't they just call it "Dracula has returned with a whip" and have done with it?
#thefilmcrowd
Shades of The Dream of Olwen there.

I've just switched from the youtube on my tv to the archive version on my laptop as I've just hit a massive advert bank.

Where's James Bernard when you need him.
