I have a nephew who is 10 years younger than me and a strapping 6'4" - he will be forever about 7 to me and yet, he's now over 50. When he was 19 I once reached for his hand to cross the road.

"If the product is free, you're the product" and "don't click the link" come first equal.

Ah this is what Janauary weekends are for: using a new garden shredder, nearly breaking it, learning how to fix it and then learning that dried lilac trimmings offer the same compressive strength as adamantium.

we discovered a sleepy newt in the garden whilst trying to weed and mulch apple trees. Nice to know I didn't imagine the one I thought I saw in the pond last summer

We switched to Serif Affinity suite: photo editing, DTP and vector graphics. Β£70 per perpetual licence. Not as shiny as Adobe but certainly good enough for most people. Think it's now been taken over by...errr...Canva??

The same happened with Microsoft and every other "traditional" project management software package. Everyone switched to Project so almost everything else disappeared. Project, being Excel with a sort-of front-end isn't up to the job.

Our team @techresort.bsky.social have really knocked it out of the park this year. More people supported than ever before. In other news...NEWS!

Love my Instant pot - loads-of-function-thing. Being able to sautΓ©, then add liquid and slow cook, or being able to shove chicken carcass plus veg and water in it and use the pressure cooker function is awesome. Occasionally use the air fryer thing too

It's incredibly prevalent in adults who are struggling. Those people often have complex, overlapping issues that most support is only looking at one aspect of. V.Frustrating.

Our work supporting adults with basic digital skills includes a lot of service-users referred from recovery, homelessness, poverty, worklessness etc local support.
All our staff are neurodiverse and they recognise immediately when those service-users have neurodiverse traits.

Roger Deakins really is the Robert Mapplethorpe of cinema, IMHO. Fewer butt plugs and cocks, though.

Also, from my experience with young people at @techresort.bsky.social , employers very risk-averse to taking on young people with no paid work track record. As a result youngsters fall into the no-experience-no-work/no-work-no-experience trap

One of the tiny pubs in Bristol, I've seen the landlord intervene and ask hoggers to 'let other people sit down'. Hearty approval of this

Mostly Chaotic Evil with my own books. Typically Chaotic Good with other people's.
A previous partner would dispute the Chaotic Evil stance because he always said he liked to see at what point a previous reader had paused - I liked that.
