Throughout the past few years, I've been in survival mode, unable to do anything beyond coping as my life fell apart and I was thrown adrift. I let the creative spark in me die. Out of necessity, I consoled myself, but now I wonder if it wasn't fear of grappling with excess complex emotion.

Been so long since I've written that I have anxiety and dread about trying again. To me, that shows how deeply I value & respect the process, but damn, is it defeating.

Anyone else become creatively cynical over the past couple months? Can’t get to that suspension of disbelief state often anymore. Every idea seems contrived & stupid. Agh. Someone help me relight the flame.

If you think it's more important to ostracize and terrorize trans kids than protecting kids from school shootings you're an asshole and I hope you get hit in the mouth with a lug wrench

Absolutely. Chapter 17 has me in tears. Phenomenal writing, and the narrator does one hell of a job.
