Throughout the past few years, I've been in survival mode, unable to do anything beyond coping as my life fell apart and I was thrown adrift. I let the creative spark in me die. Out of necessity, I consoled myself, but now I wonder if it wasn't fear of grappling with excess complex emotion.

Been so long since I've written that I have anxiety and dread about trying again. To me, that shows how deeply I value & respect the process, but damn, is it defeating.
