Gone a bit old school this evening. TV off, CD player on - Ghost Brigade playing. Writing with pen and paper. 😁

I'd love to see it! So far autistic representation tends to focus on the genius aspect, esp in crime shows, and the importance of routine, but not much else. Tho the French crime show Astrid in Paris is a bit more on point, showing sensitivity to noise, stimming, not perfect but better.

Misty moody grey night with a pale full moon shining high amid the grey clouds. The streets are slick with rain and the trees are bare. A lone figure walks along the cobbled road. There is a large house with lit windows in the distance.

Naughty children on the Isle of Islay were threatened with a visit from Crom Dubh na Nollaig (Crooked Dark One of Christmas). His arrival was heralded by screaming sounds coming from the chimney... #LegendaryWednesday

I don't think I've read stories where those aspects are drawn out so much. Yes, there are tales with autistic characteristics indicated but they generally don't reflect much in more depth, such a story would be pretty powerful. (I used to work with ASC kids).

Thanks for another great chat! Need a holiday gift for the slow-burn horror fans on your list? Then perhaps consider Little White Flowers. Not a Christmas book at all, but it does have a Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer reference πŸ˜‚

There's something about Schubert's Winterreise, you know. It's definitely a story in the ears. Der Leiermann, the last song in the sequence, is for me the very essence of wintry grief horror. #HorrorWritersChat

As this was a music-themed evening I'm sharing By the Blood, a Catholic Vampire novella

It started as a thought experiment born of listening to Powerwolf's Blessed and Possessed album enough to consider taking the theological implications of undead clergy seriously

Thanks Eryn, loved the questions

Since Christmas is approaching, I'm boosting this festive fairytale written by our much loved and missed Matt. I read it last year and it's a fun little tale #BookSky #HorrorWritersChat

Ooooh. I'd love it if each time the piece of music was louder, as if it was being played a little closer to the protagonist. A kind of sonic version of Butterfly Kisses.
