This kept me from getting too cosy or distracted by all the other things you can do on a computer. But there was another side to this setup. It somehow made me feel more playful, like a kid playing on the floor. I found myself experimenting and discovering new ways to be creative. It was fun.

When I was working on Displaced LP, I set up my gear and synthesizers, so I'd have to sit on the floor. It was uncomfortable, but that was by design. I wanted to force myself to focus on one thing at a time. I'd work in short bursts—30 to 45 minutes.
