My current WIP has really made me realize how nothing can ground you in a specific time more than the music that was popular then.

The version of America depicted in Bad Bunny's halftime show is definitely the one I want to live in.

And I just think about all the idiotic MAGA people who watched this and had to pretend they liked it ...

I agree and it works as an allegory for queer people too which resonates with me.

Yes and I find that even with individual chapters it can apply as well.

I have found that the horror genre also will celebrate toxic and sometimes bullying behavior in men and call it "bad-ass." I felt that happened a lot with Ellison.

I call myself queer because I'm gay but also intersex. In a country that has renewed its attacks on queer people, my work is getting queerer and queerer.

A new author and yet not. I spent years publishing horror under another name, but now I have shifted my focus to queer-centric stories outside those genres and it's like starting all over. For this new writing journey I am using the name MG Allan and have only started subbing this material.
