What happened at the School today? S2 Madras students visted for a Christmas lecture and demos

A short digital course in astronomy has been developed by our academic staff member, Dr Weijmans. This course explores the Solar System, stars, galaxies and cosmology, and alongside the scientific view on astronomy, also offers historical and cultural insights.

The Schools of Chemistry and Physics and Astronomy held an Outreach training day for our 1st Physics and Astronomy, Chemistry, Computer Science and Earth and Environmental Sciences PhD students led by the team of staff Dr Danica Pinto, Dr Neil Keddie, Dr Lethy Jagadamma and Dr Dimali Vithanage.

Several fanstatic seminars at the Wilson Sibbett Memorial Symposium. We welcomed 100 old friends and colleagues with participants travelling from as far as France, Germany and the US to share their memories, and reflect on Wilson‘s incredible scientific legacy.

We are pleased to hear the relaunch of the SU2P, Scottish Universities Partnership in Photonics.
