Infrastructure that in many instances it simply can't afford. Outside the main cities, it was built mainly to boost GDP in the construction industry. Not necessarily to improve public transport. Today with ridership down, & saddled with huge debts, public transport can't make ends meet.

This is not unlike how Stalin kept people in line. He also had a list of names he kept around, and occasionally selected a few from, to be arrested and either sent to the gulag or to be executed. Though not as far as I know by trying to achieve human powered flight.

I have a feeling that Putin has a list of suspected or possible traitors prepared for him, mainly by the FSB. When he senses or suspects there is a beginning tendency towards unrest, he will select someone from the list to be executed, in a grisly way, more or less in public, to "improve" morale.

It depends on your aspect and scale of time used on which to judge her actions. I also think Angela and VVP played a game with each other, where they as subtly as possible tried to manouver one another into a position of advantage to the state they represented. A real-time strategy game.

I don't think the driver escaped unharmed. There is a possibility he had fallen asleep, but the timing is odd. If he accelerated prior to forcing the barriers, it is indeed deliberate. A truck without load is no match for a heavy locomotive. But there will be enough damage to stop the train.

People like this have always existed. But they rarely if ever approach a polling station. Somehow Trump managed to get them out of the couch to cast a vote for him.

These voters are probably the ones who prefer no news at all, or easily consumed news that require none or next to no critical thinking or prior knowledge. They live in a world that only has two nuances, never questions their own convictions, and never say sorry because they are always right.

I think I heard the North Koreans are now taking over duties behind the frontline, sending more Moskals to die at the front. I suppose Kim got tired of too many stiff bodies, or no bodies at all returning to Pyongyang.

I wonder how many of these murders are the product of paranoia, deterrence or actual preparations to defect from, or subvert the regime.
