Today I joined Assemblymember Marcela Mitaynes for a small business canvass educating Sunset Park business owners about their rights in the event ICE enters their businesses.

It’s important to be informed. We’re here to let constituents know our offices are open to them.

In the wake of the worst terrorist attack in American history, survivors and responders were promised the air was safe to breathe. Almost 25 years later, we know those assurances were a lie.

Let’s right the wrongs of the last few decades and commit to full transparency. We owe survivors the truth.

I applaud Rob Pitts, chair of the Fulton County Board of Commissioners, for taking a stand against federal interference in his county’s elections.

The FBI should return all the materials seized immediately. I stand against any attempt by the federal government to abuse our electoral process.

How is this defensible, House GOP?

I’m proud to stand with my colleagues and Popular Democracy to urge SCOTUS to preserve our fundamental values.

Trump began his attack on immigrant communities by trying to eliminate birthright citizenship, the law of the land for 125+ years.

That attack has now expanded to terrorize cities around the country, and to deprive many of the due process and equal protection rights enshrined in the 14th Amendment.

You can send around as many flyers as you want, Sec. Noem, but the Constitution supersedes your baseless analysis. 

Take your removal order to a judge and get a search warrant, as the 4th Amendment requires.

Instead of answering for violent raids and civil rights abuses, DHS is circulating propaganda on Capitol Hill trying to justify ICE’s unconstitutional home intrusions with “administrative warrants” and “removal orders.”

Today and always, we must unite together as a global community to develop and expand access to better treatment and preventative options so that we can one day eradicate this disease.

On World Cancer Day, I think of my father who passed away from a brain tumor when he was just 42. I join with the millions of families who have lost loved ones to cancer in honoring their memory and recommitting to rooting out cancer.

But we all know this isn’t about 2020 – it’s about 2026 and how the Trump admin can rig the election. That’s why Gabbard is involved.

Why is DNI Gabbard involved, let alone leading, an investigation into a state’s election center? If this investigation is truly about fraud in 2020, then the DNI should have nothing to do with a law enforcement investigation.

If House Republicans are serious about election integrity, they will agree that elections must remain run by states, not rigged by a wannabe dictator.

House Republicans just enabled ICE to continue their lawlessness for another 10 days. But at that point, they’ll need Dem votes to continue.

We must not agree to another dollar for ICE until we add my amendment blocking the federal government from seizing voter rolls, ballots, or voting machines.

We must remain vigilant in guaranteeing not only the right to vote for all, but equal access for all to the ballot box.

On this day in 1870, the 15th Amendment enshrined in our constitution that the right to vote may not be denied because of race.

Whether it has been poll taxes, literacy tests, felon disenfranchisement laws, or – now – the SAVE Act, that promise has been under attack for more than 150 years.

But Trump owes the oil industry, so he chooses them over the American people – yet again.

The reason seems clear: it was all a bogus pretext to stop the offshore wind projects.

It’s hard to explain how dumb this decision was – these 5 projects are underway, have created thousands of jobs, billions in investment in American manufacturing, and would power 2.5M homes & lower energy prices.

All 5 ongoing offshore wind projects that were irrationally & arbitrarily stopped by Trump have been ordered to resume work.

The decision was supposedly based on new “classified information” that the courts rejected. I have repeatedly asked to see the classified information & have been stonewalled.

Democrats Call on ICE Watchdog to Speed Up Use of Force Inquiry

That's why I, @warren.senate.gov and others are urging the OIG to expedite its probe into ICE’s use of force and share its findings with the public immediately.

DHS OIG was asked by Congress to review ICE’s excessive force months ago.

Since then, these reckless, untrained agents have illegally intruded homes without warrants and used lethal violence against citizens.

And we have received no information about the OIG’s review.

Trump said the quiet part out loud: Rs “should take over the voting.”

We can't pass a funding bill that leaves the door open to this authoritarian brazenly promoting election manipulation.

The House must support my amendment that will block the federal government from seizing voting machines.

The ultimate goal of this immigration dragnet has been revealed: create leverage against blue states to rig the upcoming election.

We must not vote to fund DHS unless the House includes my amendment to prohibit seizing voter rolls and machines.
