Seriously, *what* is going on at the ASM of the Neuromodulation Society in Sydney this weekend, where (to president Michelle O'Brien's dismay) not only entire sessions, but ALL THREE PLENARIES are #manels from start to finish? It's unacceptable in 2025. 🤨

Great- forcing overworked, burnt out doctors to complete a survey about how overworked and burnt out they are in order to progress with training. Totally respecting and valuing the time of trainees 🤦🏻‍♀️

The results from the 2025 @gmcuk.bsky.social Workforce survey (2024 data) are unsurprisingly and steadily bad compared to previous years. But most striking to me is, out of 60K potential respondents, only 4697 responses were actually received.

Finding ways to rest and recharge is so important for student and early career doctors, because it sets up the pattern for the rest of their practising life. I hope your son finds something that works for him. 🙏

I hope, as a adult, you can recognise how incredibly emotionally abusive that was? Though I also know that doesn't make it any easier *not* to fall into ingrained patterns, even with the insight of adulthood.

I think I'm getting the hang of amigurumi. I probably need to work on gauge though, because despite the exact same pattern and stuffing weight, I've ended up with 3 Ootori-Sama (Studio Ghibli characters) of different sizes. But still very cute! #crochet #CrochetSky

I love that he gives prizes to those with lower grades who have improved. There's no carrot and stick with this guy, it's just carrots. Every kid needs an adult they can count on to lift them up. The world has enough sticks in it already.

There's research to suggest that just ONE consistently safe adult makes a huge difference to a kid's outcome. It doesn't have to be a parent or relative. It can be a teacher, a neighbour, someone else's parent, anyone. What matters is safety and consistency and here it is. Good on ya, bodega man. 🥹

It's a parent's job to expand our kid's world; not to instill narrow, bigoted views. How distressing. I'm very sorry your daughter has to negotiate this.

In my generation it was usually the arrival of gradchildren that finally smoothed the waters. Hopefully we're not quite there yet for a pair of puppy-love 16 year olds 😅

I really thought we'd left this behind last century! Quite depressing to discover that's not the case.
