in the new Language Science Press biased questions book, there's a paper by Repp & Geist where they describe a sentences tagged with ?! as "positive rejecting declarative questions"

referring specifically to ?! orthography, or just describing sentences that seem to be what people usually mean by that orthography? my intuition is that often people use ?! to indicate rise-fall-rise or what Sag & Liberman 1975 call the "surprise-redundancy contour"
