I never got them when I needed them anyway, so sleep mode made sense. The few times CIQ gave them was always when I was getting into range anyway instead of going up. So I would tank & it didn't make sense. I find no smoothing on the G7 leads the CIQ algorithm to correct when it doesn't need to.

Some people found it a bit different. I think it cuts basal a bit more aggressively because it has to account for the use of longer extended boluses & temp basals in algorithm.
I use sleep mode 24/7 so I can't speak on its correction doses.

I mean Control IQ+ is amazing. I have the sound shut off basically outside of critical lows. So as long as my G7's stop sucking the risk goes down a bit on that one.
08.08.2025 13:28 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0
I think these only apply to people on Control IQ+, not Control IQ? Because it's the more recent updates that could be why the alerts haven't come to y'all.

[Shocked]. If you haven't seen anywhere 1 is a sound alert which basically means the audio for the tslim fails & then the whole device bricks itself & then the 2nd is during G7 warm up the tslim & Mobi with the newest software [9.1 something?] Causes accidental insulin delivery.

But also last I heard the Twiist is only available through Byram who apparently are wildly hit or miss on things for local friends who've used them.

Tandem having 2 "Safety Alerts" [basically a soft recall] back to back, plus all Dexcom issues is making me want to go out & buy an iPhone, ask for a Libre 3+ & get on the Twiist waiting list because wtf...

Yes, of course, my blood sugar stabilized & only now hours later is starting to rise. Just before back-to-back meetings ๐๐ฉ.

For me, I think partially I've been eating too late. I haven't been consistently eating lunch & end up eating dinner about 8-12 hours after breakfast. So I notice I'm more resistant in the afternoon and then less in the morning. It's only been a week or so though. Might just be a fluke.

I have only found like 1 article that even talks about it, & from what I recall it basically was like "it's NBD." It could also be just that most people do not notice a difference/assume it is only their sensitivity. I am pretty persistent about testing my BG before treating if my CGM reads low.
05.08.2025 14:30 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0
Right if I had known that was going to happen I would have treated myself! I seem to always have bad Dexcoms around the same time. I have a theory that CGMs haven't been heavily studied in conjunction w/estrogen & progesterone impacts since people who have menstrual cycles only make up a small %.
05.08.2025 14:30 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0
Also after typing, I went from 68 mg/dl to 82 mg/dl so definitely the right call. I find Dexcom is a bit more aggressive with identifying lows when I started using it to deliver basal vs when on MDI.
05.08.2025 14:20 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0
I had 4 days of lows last week that was a combination of me being insulin sensitive & my Dexcom reading me lower by 10 mg/dl consistently. I was hydrated & I had calibrated it, but it kept drifting back down even when I was stable. Not stable enough to run a pump off of for sure.
05.08.2025 14:20 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0
My BG is reading in the 70s, so I am attempting not to treat this "low" of 68 mg/dl that it is giving me right now since I just ate. For me, it's all about hormone levels. The higher they are more insulin resistant, lower = less, but also less predictable behavior.

CGM reading of 72 mg/dl with a slight down arrow.
When you go to eat breakfast and the morning insulin resistance says which always shows up says "Well what if I don't show up today?"

Jobs expecting you to find something in your email vs outlook search function is why so many things are more complicated than they should be. Then again writing things down in easy to find documentation seems impossible too. Like a 1 hr video to find a single link is ridiculous.

Learned today I can not tell the difference between my pump vibrating & very loud punk bands. The constant checking of my pump was getting a bit out of hand, but tbf I did end up needing to give some glucose.
I was active all day & wasn't able to stop for a real meal. Dinner after midnight lol.

Low blood sugar during an active learning workshop should be illegal lol. So much for learning detailed info on how to use this data program. Brain is 100% not gonna retain this with a BS of 56/60.

& that is another variable that is only present for some weeks of the month. Where others, I could prebolus 8+ units for 30 min & not budge which is partially why it took me so long to realize ๐ตit's me hi I'm the variable it's me ๐ต. Where I had originally thought my dose was wrong or basal too high.
24.07.2025 13:47 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0
That's also why I am a bit intense about preventing lows, especially below 65 because it keeps them off my back for the most part. Stopping highs helps my remaining beta cells behave slightly better, but the before-meal drop really messes with prebolusing enough for food.
24.07.2025 13:47 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0
Yeah, it does make things significantly more complicated. I can handle it, but it makes my dosing look intense to endos & they don't generally like that kind of thing. They'd rather I wait till all bolus is 100% out of my IOB than give a 2nd dose, but my BS will randomly sit below basal threshold.
24.07.2025 13:47 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0
I tend to need fat because my basal/bolus ratio is ridiculous enough at 20%/80%. I pretty much get nervous taking as much insulin as I need to stay in range because my basal will eventually need to be cut simply because my pancreas is too helpful but only when food isn't involved.
24.07.2025 13:28 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0
I think that might be the "secret sauce" for me in how I eat potatoes. I tend to have some sort of cream-based item with it, so it's slowly hitting instead of all at once or like a burger or if I eat a salad with potatoes on the side it always has a higher fat dressing.
24.07.2025 13:28 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0
I am definitely not a good test case for pasta because I ate it so dang much pre-diagnosis that I don't eat it much anymore lol. When I do it's smothered in cheese so it's a slow rise & then *kablam* โซ๏ธ at like 2.5-3 hours. If insulin didn't take so long to peak I could catch the rise better.
