the newer generations will never know the absolute dread we felt when in 2009-2013 we found a video with both likes and comments disabled. it only ever meant one thing.

😭nuuu. the video that inspired me to write this was SO blatant too. they even had the artifacting from doing a low quality quick slowdown in audacity rather than the high quality one that takes time to render. and the artifacting magically disappeared once the vid was played at 1.15 speed. crazy.

like, some people do just speak slow, and that's not what i'm talking about. it's when big commentary youtubers slow down the footage of them talking in front of a camera by like 10-15% to add extra ad revenue for free. i swear i'm not crazy. I'M NOT CRAZY. their old vids were NORMAL SPEED

okay this has been living rent free in my head the past few weeks but im like 100% CERTAIN that there's some hidden meta amongst youtubers to slow down their videos by like 10-15%, just enough to not be noticeable. i've seen at least 3 big youtubers do it now. their older videos sound normal speed.

It's also due to my own mental health being meh lately, and a myriad of other things. Impostor syndrome hitting hard lately lmao. But I won't get too far into this, just know that I'm going back to streaming :p maybe there's gonna be less streams per week tho, otherwise i'll never finish the vid

Sorry everyone for my lackluster stream schedule lately, lots of random cancellations. Partially it's due to me being busy with the upcoming video, it's going to be my biggest one so far and honestly, I have no clue how other youtubers just pump em out like that lmao. Maybe i'm just a perfectionist.

one of my minor annoyances as a non-native english speaker is to realize that i've been misspelling a certain word for my entire life and nobody ever pointed it out to me. i remember as a kid i'd spell "surprise" as "suprise". another one i remember is "archeology"

ive noticed a few of the sloptubers i watch started putting large pauses between words in their sentences. since they didnt use to speak like that, i think its a trick to stretch the video and get more revenue that way. thankfully i have the trusty rusty handy dandy 1.5 speed tool.
