And surely Sterling could’ve chosen to play for another London club if he dropped his salary demands to say £100k/week.
Is Maresca’s point that he knows it’s unpleasant to be forced out from his own playing days, but Sterling has better options than the fishing boat…

Ooft. Only a ~1 clean sheet difference between City/Arsenal/Liverpool’s £5.5-6m defenders, and the playing £4m options.

The most he ever got in a season was 149 points so even a total return to his best would see him similar to what Rice and Mac Allister will probably get with defcon points. So good value potentially but probably not mockery.

Is Tosin the one?

Yep and a nice gw away from cup/internationals, once first choice lineups are established, might be a nicer time to bb even if it’s mostly on £4-5m players. Especially now many of those players could be picking up defcon points.

There are downsides to that though. Getting Barco’d or Quansah’d on your bench boost, and then wildcarding on very little data

Are we all going to get Barco’d?

Started with him both seasons, sold him by gw5 both seasons 💪

What’s the tactical idea then? 4-4-2 but the full backs provide the width as it transforms to a 3-4-1-2. So the full-backs push up and go wide, the wide midfielders go inside, one central midfielder (Zubimendi alternative) drops back into defence and the other central mid goes to #10?

As long as the signings are consistent with tactics and philosophy, I’d argue that Man U now need the best players available to them rather than younger ones with higher ceiling. Because at the moment Man Utd don’t develop potential well at all. They need to set system first, and find results!

I’d like to see some time limit on the price change window. Like 24 hours before the deadline is the “transfer window” in which prices can change. You can make (or line up to execute as soon as the window opens) transfers before it but there’s no advantage
04.06.2025 07:38 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0
I wonder if that is positive engagement though. I personally don’t want to look at price change sites on a Monday night to see if a player will rise £0.1m. I imagine a very small % of the 11 million will engage to that degree. And more likely just miffed when they price out of a planned transfer

I guess you could make it a sliding scale, but if it gets too complicated that’ll surely just turn people off..

Seems the biggest problem in FPL is the Template. Double bps for players under 10% owned? A fantasy game this summer is doing it?
The problem then is that content creators can start to actually affect the scoring of the players and it hands them more power. There’d be so much smoke and mirrors.

Mind blown. Also I want a xG form metric

Can’t decide. I have this and 4 FTs. I have FH and BB remaining.
I was planning to FH this week and then BB in gw36. But I’d only get to 5-7 doublers in gw36 to still have 11 playing in gw37.
So now I’m thinking may be better to save the FH for gw36 (assuming doubles).

Interesting ‘lemma. Timber, Isak or Sarr to be benched? Or: Timber out for a likely gw36 doubler (Kerkez?) and Howe to Arteta for last week of ass man…

Brilliant, thanks! Already tripled up on Arsenal, Palace and City so their managers come with an added transfer cost 👍

I started AM on Howe in 31 and was going to go Howe 32 again and transfer to maybe Pep or Arteta in 33. Now I’m wondering if better to go to Glasner and do it now

Yes and those fixtures for Palace have league table deltas of like 5, 6 and 8 or something which is the sweet spot. It could be big ass manning. I was going to say shame the table bonus games are all away. But Palace are better away from home; 6th place in the “away”table with 2 games in hand.

Sounds like we have the same chips left and a similar strategy. Except I was going to WC in 30. To get more 32/33 doublers, lose a bit of fat from the GW29 crash, and free up the ass man funds in the best way. Hopefully whilst stocking up on bench fodder that will double in 36
11.03.2025 06:13 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0
My BB thinking was to just try and get 4 cheap players who have a double fixture. I’m a Haaland team so don’t have much spare budget. If I can get just 4 appearance points per bench player and keep the bench budget to <£18m I’ll be happy.
But will we know the 37 dgw before the gw30 deadline?
07.03.2025 06:36 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0
But you can still get 5 matches on the ass man chip, just need to make a ass man transfer. Howe for Lei and the double, and then transfer for the gw33 double

Reasons I’m thinking FH29, AM31-33, (dead end 34), WC35, BB36.
• Value tied up in Hall, Isak, Salah, Rogers - blanking in 29.
• Budget stretched as it’s a Haaland team!
• Can’t get good bench without sacrificing a premium
• Once once they’re gone I won’t get them back

Joao Pedro, last goals vs:
Bournemouth (away), City, Arsenal (away)
Since blanked against:
Southampton, Leicester, Palace
