The real kicker in the furry community, VR especially, is that everyone knows EVERYONE. You get some people going to multiple events all day to boost one DJ or another, so when something goes sour, news of it is everywhere, just about instantly. You can't burn endless people and go unnoticed.

Yeah, but its a small community, and its not the first time, or the dozenth time they've gone a little overboard with the lasers. But, because its VR, you get all around those IRL regulations where a venue might get sued, and people push limits probably past what's reasonable.

Most of those people are pretty apolitical, from the US framework anyway. Going to a more spoils based, short agenda based system has the advantage of speed, but low stability, low efficiency, and low process ownership because they'll be out in 5-10 years anyway.

To some degree you need to have a kind of balance of terror with large dogs. A little roughhousing might be on order. The camel clutch, rolling the doggo on his back, pinching his paws, booping the snoot. Burritoing the dog in a beach towel. It looks unhinged, but seems to establish rapport.

Part of the problem is there was a lot of politics involved when declaring someone died of covid. So some of it you have to look to "excess deaths". So if you have 1.5-2 million excess deaths, and they cluster around damages related to covid, you can say "well, maybe this much.."
