Is it just me, or has communication around content creation gotten exponentially unhinged since generative slop started knocking around? Sure there were always weird things, but literally saw someone claim that ChatGPT proved that youtube was stealing likes/views from them... non-ironically.

The amount of people that don't understand what 55% of $0 is... the agreement is 55% of ad revenue, no ads = no ad revenue.

Never understood fawning over people just for their 'clout'. There's shitty people with 4mill subs that I wouldn't talk to even if you paid me, and people with a couple hundred subs that I'd definitely try and get a signature from.

Judge people by what they do, not the size of their community.

This is an unfortunate reality for any platform these days - there will always be someone trying to push the line, all you can do is be clear about it and apply consequences when they cross it. Just remember for each viewer like that, there are several lurkers that just enjoy the content.

Very Well said from the creative front. Add on the ecological impact and you'd have to be daft to want it to be a thing in common use. (seriously, look at the ballooning of water usage, emissions, etc. by every company that invests in this these frankly awful "tools" they shoehorn in everything)

Yes - I have fun exploring/dissecting games, and for some games I have hundreds/thousands of hours in, I'll totally dig out that stuff myself, but let's be frank: In games where I only have 15-20 hours to spend, sometimes I just find more fun in being told how a weird thing works and playing with it

If I ask a question about a mechanic in a game, or about a strategy, I'm looking for an answer, not "but the fun is in exploring the game."

If someone asks me how to make a Swolelock in D&D, I'm gonna tell them how I build it, and usually strategies for it, not an ambiguous "try whatever it's fun"

Not sure what I'm craving, but I have been destroying my Birria and my Greek seasoning mixes the past 2 weeks, and still want more - knocked out a quarter of the jar of Greek, and a quarter of the jar of Birria seasoning in that time (which is a lot) - also killed off an entire tub of feta too lol

I'm not sure why it irritates me, but when I open an email to my press account, and it's just a lot of "Buy it Now" links, it makes me less likely to want to buy your game, much less cover it.

It's too late for release coverage, much less a review.

As long as the machine learning remains diagnostic rather than generative, I'm fine with it.

Things I'm hesitant about?
I don't know the founders/creators.
I know it uses AWS and shares Twitch ingest.
It Still needs a "Killer Feature" to stand out (realms are the closest they have)

The 2 big things I like:
- Realms are a front facing take on twitch teams, and something I would've liked to see on discord for streaming.
- Moderation flags (this one's 50/50 for me), it uses machine learning in a diagnostic fashion to indicate and flag messages (positive, negative, ageist, etc.)

I'm still on the fence about it, but I am trying out Moonbeam as a potential 3rd platform for streaming. It definitely still has that "beta feel", but I like the idea of "realms". That said, I am still learning about it as a platform (and still trying to find info on its founders)
