Do you mean writing mostly words to convey the logic of the proof instead of detailed mathematics? When it's done well I really like it as a style. But it's hard to pull off.

Sometimes you plan to spend the night exploring some econ theory, but the baby gets a new tooth and takes really long to sleep. And when it's all over you really just need to revisit Bowie's Berlin Trilogy.

This happened to me once with a non-econ journal. I just told them I couldn't do it that fast and they didn't object.

People make different kinds of contributions to the social sciences โ€” mathematical, theoretical, empirical, historical and others. Indeed, formal mathematical models have been very valuable as has careful institutional and historical insight. Social science has room for it all.

I canโ€™t see the post, but I noticed after the election an uptick in posts equating being anti-DEI with wanting to get rid of the Civil Rights Act. This signals to me an unwillingness among leftists to compromise on DEI that is worrisome.

For object assignment without monetary transfers, Random Serial Dictatorship was long conjectured to be the only strategy-proof, ex post efficient & symmetric rule. We show that it is not. Further, we investigate when it cannot be Pareto-dominated ex ante. www.econometricsociety.org/publications...

This was the most disappointing part of becoming an adult. It wasnโ€™t even that people in institutions had a price for their principles. We all do if weโ€™re honest. Itโ€™s how low the price is.
