I mainly came to Bluesky for the econtwitter. But I rarely see any now. Very low level of activity. What’s going on?

People make different kinds of contributions to the social sciences β€” mathematical, theoretical, empirical, historical and others. Indeed, formal mathematical models have been very valuable as has careful institutional and historical insight. Social science has room for it all.

I can’t see the post, but I noticed after the election an uptick in posts equating being anti-DEI with wanting to get rid of the Civil Rights Act. This signals to me an unwillingness among leftists to compromise on DEI that is worrisome.

For object assignment without monetary transfers, Random Serial Dictatorship was long conjectured to be the only strategy-proof, ex post efficient & symmetric rule. We show that it is not. Further, we investigate when it cannot be Pareto-dominated ex ante. www.econometricsociety.org/publications...

This was the most disappointing part of becoming an adult. It wasn’t even that people in institutions had a price for their principles. We all do if we’re honest. It’s how low the price is.

I agree. But I don’t see anything changing from within, do you? Wayyyy too many academics think the primary purpose of the uni is to implement their preferred ideology. And nobody wants to stick there neck out. (Not justifying Trump. Seems like he’s doing brain surgery with a jack hammer.)
