The upward redistribution of wealth over the past 50 years has shifted $80 trillion from the bottom 90% of Americans to the top 1%. 

That’s $80 trillion that would have gone into the paychecks of the working class.

The greatest trick of all is trickle-down economics.

Watching Andor, the new Superman and South Park, it's remarkable how lowbrow nerd-pop culture is crafting a far more pointed critique of this moment in our democracy than most elite journalists and politicians. Really frightening treatments of democracy falling to corruption and authoritarianism.

If I was headin up the Dems I would have a 24/7 war room with the most brilliant minds in the country developing a multi pronged opposition inclusive of fundraising, recruitment, media campaigns, local organizing, stop gap planning for lost infrastructure & networks of mutual aid. It’s BASIC shit.

Today marks the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Postal Service, older than our nation itself. The USPS is a service, not a business. And it belongs to the people, not corporate profiteers!

No country honors those who tried to destroy it by naming military bases after them. The Confederates fought against the United States—they shouldn’t be celebrated or memorialized by our military. It’s time for this to end.

Laughing in front of cages designed to hold migrants and refugees, many of whom came to this country fleeing extreme violence and poverty, and hoping to raise their children in a more compassionate country. And many of whom followed all the legal procedures to enter the country.

There are only three political positions in America today

1) I like the fascism

2) I'll acquiesce to the fascism (reasons for this one vary: cowardice, access, denial, misguidedly thinking that acquiescence is savvy, etc)

3) I oppose the fascism

There is only one side in American politics that consistently supports and endorses political violence. People need to stop being afraid to say so.

Trump Taps Palantir to Compile Data on Americans

The Trump administration is working with private companies like Palantir to create detailed reports on every American, which could help them weaponize our personal information in their quest to deport immigrants and punish critics.

This is a huge threat to our constitutional rights.

Would be good if reporters ask the administration why they let a man they knew was constantly using psychoactive drugs to take a hatchet to the federal government and cause uncountable death and immiseration

Pretty wild to be living in a time when humans are being forced to work in order to even be considered deserving of life or even to be considered human at all, while simultaneously human labor is being systematically eliminated from the concept of work.

So basically our core biomedical agenda has gone from cancer and heart disease research with major investments in alzheimers/dementia research to jacking up the sperm count of teenage males and a new wild goose for the 'hidden causes' of Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Everyone wants there to be a grand scheme behind all of this but the terrible truth is that extremely stupid people are in charge and they have a fanatical devotion to wrong, childlike concepts of society and economics cooked up by right wing radio hosts in order to sell tainted dietary supplements

I may be tired and a little hoarse, but as I said again and again on the Senate floor, this is a moment where we cannot afford to be silent, when we must speak up.

The people who told you to calm down because they would never overturn Roe are now telling you to calm down because they will never allow Trump to serve a third term.

Our capitalist society sees profit as the point of human society, and profit is most harmed by cost, and cost is most caused by labor of humans, so inevitably this will be a society that increasingly sees humans as a problem to eliminate, which is why that is how it is training its machines now.

Anyway state governors should, and by "should" I mean have a fundamental obligation to the people they serve, be moving with all deliberate haste to use state police and national guard to protect their residents against these roving cells of masked human traffickers abducting people off the street
