Step down.
You’ve proven you can’t listen to your constituents and lead them.
You will be the reason why voters won’t be excited to vote for another moderate candidate

Max Burns @themaxburns • 4h I am exhausted by the sheer number of meetings I am in where Democrats ask for data-backed messaging work, sign contracts, receive that work, and then dismiss it out of hand because "That's not what we expected." Yeah! Obviously! That's why you got blown out! Max Burns • @themaxburns • 4h Party leaders can continue to think they have the voter approval or credibility to be a "moderating influence" on the political landscape, but they don't. They are imagining a reputation with voters they simply do not have in real life.
Max Burns @themaxburns • 4h •• Continue telling voters you know more than they do. Tell voters their priorities are wrong. How's that working out? Do voters love you yet? Max Burns @themaxburns • 2h What we've seen reflected in Quinnipiac & CNN polls (& polls going back thru 2024) is that given a choice, voters want Dems to fight instead of compromise. In the recent CNN poll, nearly 60% of Dem voters said the party should be more oppositional. x.com/strenuouslyobj... Jack Gold @strenuousl... •2h Can you elaborate on what the best/worst testing messaging is?
Max Burns @ @themaxburns • 2h We've also seen that compromise messaging doesn't just fall flat -- it turns off Dem and independent voters who see it as tone deaf. It's a big reason why Gavin Newsom's podcast became a scandal, and why a majority of Dem voters now view the party unfavorably. Max Burns 9 @themaxburns 2h What are the messages Democratic and independent voters say they want? 1. Populism! 2. Fight fight fight! 3. Stop picking my pocket! You don't need to be "Progressive" to sell this message. Centrists like @PatRyanUC and @ConorLambPA are naturals!
Max Burns @themaxburns • 2h In fact, I'd argue that even though they pack rooms across the heartland, the Bernie/AOC wing needs centrist working class voices like Ryan and Lamb if they really want to hit the sweet spot. There's a way forward. Voters have told us what it is. Leadership isn't listening. Max Burns @themaxburns If voters want a populist fight, you can give them a populist fight while standing behind Democratic principles. A great example of this from the other day, coincidentally also @PatRyanUC: Pat Ryan @ @PatRyanUC • 56m Trump loves a villain. Even when they're totally made-up.
Democratic voters want populist fighters.
Democratic Party officials don’t want to hear it.
