Im saying that being able to plaster the walls with an approximation of the artistic vision allows small teams to take that to people who have lots of money and no vision, without frank having to work 60 hour weeks for a month hoping they can get ot far enough to get paid later.

Except you get a faster start, that more represents the end product, to show the money people who will throw you out the door if you show up with a demo textured in MS paint.

And because of that you get to make a beloved game that provides a living for dozens of artists.

Actually, its further than that: in fact the use of AI in that stage was precisely what *got* them the resources necessary to hire many of those people, via the grants and such.

I think equating them is precisely what we shoukd be doing, because noone actively thinks about the environmental impact their social media use has if you dont show them a graph comparing it.

No, im saying that the particular use of AI doesnt detract from the successes of the game, because of the artists that worked on it.

My defence is that i dont give a twopenny fuck if they used AI in their place holders really, if that gets us more games of that quality, with that budget, without crunch, from smaller sutdios then I hope to fuck it continues.
