The stress we experience during our daily lives isnβt created by circumstances but rather by our judgments about them.
Thoughts are not realityβ
we can simply let then pass through without letting them persist in our head like an unwelcome relative foisting themselves on us.

Useful insight from James Clearβs βAtomic Habitsβ, a highly recommended self-help book. Donβt expect to be able to instantly change ingrained habits. Instead, try to be 1% better today than yesterdayβ and do that 100 days in a row: small lifestyle changes compound over a long period of time.

Name something good in your life that ended?
What did you learn?
What bad experience did you have in your life that ended?
How did you grow?

We dread death.
But we die three times.
First, when the body shuts down and ceases to function. The second is when we are buried or cremated. And the third is when our name is mentioned for the very last time.

We can be grateful science has increased our longevity. But are our longer lives imbued with better existential insights keeping up with the development of modern scientific advances?

We mustnβt berate ourselves when we cannot always give people what they want β or get what we want β but the question could be reframed by asking what they β or we βneed. Need or want? Itβs a good question to consider.

Would you agree that the vast majority of psychiatric diagnoses are not based on empirical medical observations, but rather the language used (or not) by a patient? Which makes it subjective.

Existentiallyβ¦ why is it that itβs only on the brink of widespread death and destruction that elicits a unified moral clarity? Recognising peace as an ideal in its own right is an existential necessityβ it shouldnβt require a prerequisite of catastrophic failures.

Our worries and fears often leave us sad and stressed. Nature can have an amazingly calming effect: nature helps us feel calmer, more optimistic and a walk in nature is a great way of coping with stress. But donβt take my word for it. Try it!
