Some Facebook Marketplace listings inspired me to write this:

Adjustments made in earlier in the magazine can cascade down to the back of the issue. Even adding in just 2 pages could cause the bundled page count to shift later on.
And having an attached article could shift those page counts. But I think those are a good sign of popularity, regardless of order
Does WSS have a lot of articles? Especially ones connected with series?
I think series in the back of the magazine have a bit more room to move around since there is less "prime real estate" for ads (more being ones for other magazines). If there were delays you may want that to help finalize it.
There's a controversy going on with WSS editorial and Shite no Hana's TOC placement. In short, its placement is not a result of its popularity (or lack thereof), rather it's due to WSS's editorial mishandling of the manuscripts (specifically delay in submitting them for publication).
17.11.2025 16:43 โ ๐ 15 ๐ 8 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0At least it will be on the Viz app in English!
Once they add another English volume or two to the backlog I want to pick up reading the manga again. Complete the story from where it left off with the Live Action & Anime.
I think Trillion Game is finishing up... so that should be one of the last chapters for the series (but maybe not the final chapter).
17.11.2025 15:04 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Another weird rabbit hole I went down today for research... Finding information about pop-culture controversaries stemming from 1993 Japanese children's daytime TV programming.
Weekly Shonen Jump author comments can send you in some weird directions!
Next week's @manga.properties article will be about Fumihiko Ota's "Genshoku Chojin Paint-Man" manga from 1993, as part of the on-going series for Jump Multi World.
Its a short series, so there is a bunch of supplemental info also included that helps paint the full picture!

Hiroyuki Takei series by publisher (including license transfers):
Shueisha: 6
Kodansha: 7
Shogakukan: 5 (now with Juro)
If Shogakukan publishes Jumbor then they would catch-up to Shueisha. Kodansha will still take the lead with Shaman King Yard (SKY). Turning into a pretty balanced spread.

We've written a news report for the upcoming Shogakukan magazine โCoroCiaoโ!
Includes a rundown of the magazine and three creators who will serialize manga in it!

I think the most important part of this name change is that is shows the dedication of this team to adapt and willing to try new things. The focus to rise above the circumstances that caused this and continue to provide a great service to the global English manga community.

6 Mario mangas drawn by Kazuki Motoyama
a 2023 photo of Kazuki Motoyama
Kazuki Motoyama / ๆฌๅฑฑไธๅ, author of several manga adaptations of Super Mario, has passed away according to his sister. He was 69 years old.

Third game of City Trial in Kirby Air Riders and it glitched out. I was completely stuck for most of the match. Until I hit time up, and then I was freed, but only in super slow mode (and didn't get to the minigame). Only glitched again when I tried to change bikes and got stuck. Very weird!
09.11.2025 00:36 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Next week's article is about Tatsuya Egawa. So I got to dig into some research for non-Jump supplemental information!

In order to juice the sales of the print edition of the magazine, there is also some promotional Pokรฉmon cards being bundled with it.
A digital edition of the magazine will also be available (with no cards, and likely a lower price).
20 manga authors will be contributing to the new magazine. The exact list of titles and authors haven't been announced yet. Some are shown on the cover, but portions of the characters on the cover are currently hidden behind "?" blocks that will be revealed later.

A brand new manga magazine launches next month in Japan! Corociao! Taking the best of Corocoro and Ciao magazines, and making this hefty new magazine.
Issue 1 launches on December 19, 2025 for 1280yen. It's an "irregular" released magazine, so no word on when issue 2 will release.
I think that window will really start closing in the next couple of years. Once the Japanese broadcasters start locking in longer and more expensive commitments with big streaming money, it will become tricky until the bubble pops and re-organizes again.
05.11.2025 17:30 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0The best chance for a new competitor in anime streaming that is โbuilt by fansโ needs to break into the Japanese Live Action TV streaming market in the next year. Become established with the JPN broadcasters and then expand into anime for new simulcasts once you prove you can do it.
05.11.2025 17:30 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0When I had it first published, I thought "This is about as good as it will get. Maybe a little more will come out over time, but unlikely."
But just the continual prodding seems to slowly drip out new information over time. And still just as exciting to find new lost pieces!
It's going to be really exciting to start updating these Manga Allman articles on Manga Properties. Since back in August 2024 when they first launched I now have so many blanks to fill in for the covers, TOCs, and lost/forgotten manga oneshots. A treasure trove of new information.

From 1972 to 1978 Jump had multiple long-running baseball manga being serialized simultaneously, with as many as FOUR at the same time, if not even more!
How was this even possible?!
