#Lenacapavir- #PrEP zum Schutz vor #HIV für die, die sie besonders brauchen: Ab 2027 soll die zweimal jährlich verabreichte Spritze zum Preis von 40 US-Dollar pro Person und Jahr für Millionen Menschen zugänglich sein. Eine gute Nachricht in schwierigen Zeiten für die globale HIV-Prävention!

Laut @rki.de gab es in diesem Jahr bis zum 21.9. fast 400 (397) gemeldete #Mpox-Fälle. Im Vergleichszeitraum 2024 waren es 120.

Robert Koch Institut: Syphilis cases in Germany continue to rise! #rki

Wer ist besonders betroffen? 2024 wurden 9.519 Syphilis-Fälle gemeldet. Das sind 3,9 % mehr als 2023 (9.159 Fälle). Die Syphilis bleibt vor allem in bestimmten Gruppen verbreitet: 82 % der Fälle mit bekanntem Infektionsweg traten bei Männern, die Sex mit Männern haben (MSM), auf. 2024 gab es bundesweit erstmals seit 2009 keinen weiterer Anstieg in dieser Gruppe. 722 der Fälle traten bei Frauen auf (7,6 % aller Meldungen), das entspicht einen Anstieg um 17 %. Die höchste Inzidenz traten bei Männer zwischen 30–39 Jahre (42,8/100.000) und bei Frauen zwischen 20–24 Jahre (4,5/100.000) auf.

Public-Health-Maßnahmen Um dem Anstieg der Syphilis-Fallzahlen entgegenzuwirken, ist ein gut abgestimmtes Zusammenspiel verschiedener Public-Health-Maßnahmen erforderlich. Auf Ebene des individuellen klinischen Managements gehören dazu vor allem eine möglichst rasche Diagnose und Behandlung, um Folgeerkrankungen zu verhindern.

2024 gab es erneut einen Höchststand der Syphilis-Fälle in Deutschland, aber der Anstieg verlangsamt sich.
