People clearly don't remember that the point of early social networks was to see if you could check in enough to become king of the bathroom at your neighborhood bar.

The first time I signed up for Twitter was back when it was Twttr and you did it with text messages. And my first tweet was something like "this seems lame and pointless."

And I was right. I miss it.
