Since the SuperNOFA was created in 2020, $1.62 billion in awards have been made to create 12,676 affordable rental homes that will ultimately house nearly a quarter million Californians.

Today’s awards of $414.2 million include Awards to projects in 16 California counties were made from HCD’s Multifamily Housing Program, Farmworker Housing Grant Program, Veterans Housing and Homelessness Prevention Program, and Infill Infrastructure Grant Program.

The Multifamily Finance Super NOFA was created to streamline California’s complex housing finance system and allow developers to apply to four programs through a single application, cutting costs and allowing more affordable housing to be built in the fight against homelessness.

The Multifamily Finance SuperNOFA awards for Round 3 will create 2,099 new homes with 2,068 homes reserved for low- to extremely low-income Californians.

Across three rounds of Homekey, HCD funded 261 projects with nearly 16K homes expected to house more than 175,000 Californians. More than 900 of those homes have already been built in the City of Los Angeles, with 425 in the works and more to come through Prop. 1-funded Homekey+.
