Nearly 3K people age out of foster care in California each year. Since 2020, HCD’s TAY programs have helped almost 16K young adults exit or prevent homelessness in California, giving them the tools to attain and maintain housing stability to focus on work and education.

This round of TAY awards went to 54 California counties to fund housing resources for youth ages 18-24, provide wrap-around supportive services, train child welfare workers in housing navigation, and supplement rents for youth in the most expensive rental markets.
