maybe give Marvis Pro a shot if you're on ios and AM, i've been using a self-built library with itunes match but it's worked very nicely but i imagine it works well too on standard AM

i might put together a video sometime showing off the whole process, its definitely not as effortless as just using one streaming service but it’s worth for the unlistened groupings, having it all in one place, and its already mostly necessary to download stuff for dj mixing or sampling anyways

idk if I’ve made it all clear in one place but the system is basically:
- musicbee on pc
- marvis pro on ios
- both sync with iTunes Match as the middleman (mb can export an iTunes file and marvis uses the Apple Music library)

a little more fleshed out now but I’ve been very happy with this system.

If you already have a lot of stuff downloaded this is probably the way to go if you’re leaving spotify and want a consolidated place for everything and don’t want to touch linux and/or self-host a media server

this is kind of exactly what every creative industry has been trying to do though, art as Entertainment Products. movies with action/adventure sequel spam, music with stock/ai music in algo-playlists, tv with a million identical police shows. game companies just achieved the cultural victory first

i've usually pinned this as when meeting someone new the difference between the icebreakers "what games do you play" and "what Kinds of games do you play"

but yeah, feels like the number of people who care about exploring games as a medium w/ history richer than gta5 and pubg is vanishingly low

tried to do the august thing last year but as someone who has mostly only lived in the southwest, by the time i get to august i'm usually very done with the summer as a season.

i imagine it works better if summer is a season you cherish instead of one that makes the outside a nuclear wasteland

i didn't get much out of bokunatsu 2, but counterintuitively i think i probably would've liked it more if i played it in the winter

if it's any consolation, we're not quite at banning mixed race couples or any profanity or nudity, or making fun of the church, but this is the path this all is going down

its not a coincidence that movies were horny as fuck in the 70s and 80s and once queer people got more visible the people in charge of media companies tried to u-turn on that real quick. it's literally just the Hays Code again.

payment processors are probably not going to go after persona 5 but its a demonstration of how useless of a determiner "contains topics" is. doesn't have to be in any sort of positive light or even shown at all, just referenced.

let this be some sort of testament that tools to detect samples do not exist.

you can sample blatantly and obviously and as long as you put a reverb or delay or layering or phaser or bitcrush or whatever on it, algorithms generally can't figure it out.

i didnt distro this one on release because it is 100% entirely samples and each song only samples one song.

but i was curious to see if it would even get caught and seemingly not

(although bitpack tracks is still getting false flagged for unknown reasons despite the relative lack of samples)

i wonder how much the fall of the current paradigms of music streaming will be because of distribution services being fickle about things like "your album art cant have text if it doesnt match the album title or artist name exactly" causing artists to just say "ah fuck it whatever"
