Mersey Ferries captains and crews will be 100% prepared for their landmark new boat after completing training at LJMU.⚓

The crews were trained at the university’s Maritime Centre, which boasts the only ship simulator set up of its kind at a UK research institution.

Forensic anthropologists from LJMU lead study into WWII massacre in Greece.

They have recently returned from Distomo, where they conducted a preliminary forensic survey of skeletal remains belonging to victims of the 1944 Nazi massacre.

Stress and anxiety before a marathon can leave runners at risk of sickness. 🤧

While scientists once blamed reduced immunity and crowd exposure, new research shows anxiety, stress, and mood may also influence whether runners get ill after a long run or marathon.

LJMU volunteers also supported the Royal British Legion’s #PoppyAppeal. Students worked on two community-based projects for the 80th anniversary of the end of WWII.
