And that house was beautiful. 4 bed, 3 bath, new construction, great schools, perfect neighborhood. The American Dream. Right? So I wanted to help build a world where every person gets to live that dream. That house was the first brick. My leftist cornerstone.

Want to know what inspired my shift from liberal to leftist?
When we bought our house. I realized I didn’t deserve it. EVERYONE does. Not just some list of assholes I feel are ‘worthy.’ Sure we worked to get to a place where we could buy that house, but plenty of people work just as hard.

If they need more kindling for that fire, they can always add the ways that economic security reduces illicit drug use.

The legal merit isn’t my question. I’m wondering if anybody knows if they have given any line of bullshit on how this is justifiable.

My best guess is that they use amenities or revocation of privileges to “encourage” detainees to “volunteer” for this work. And when you have a group of people whose rights are already being trampled what’s one more?
