this week I've improved how we handle book data internally, added the inventory, and built the interaction UI

more importantly, I worked on the bookshelf. For now, you can only place books in your preferred sections, but I'll add an optional, more granular, system later

the debug was very helpful bc the main problem was that when I had a book on hand its collision was getting in the way of the raycast

so i simply adjusted to remove the collision when picked up

I was having a lot of problems with books interactions so I did this simple debug raycast view to understand what was happening

with the red spheres turning green when interaction is valid

busy week, but worked on core interactions + added some assets to speed up the workflow:

- examine system (w/ page turning for books), sitting & in-game PC (shoutout DreamOS) and polished movement

next up: Adding shelf interactions and (maybe) starting on NPCs

First signs of life for my cozy library game. Just finished implementing the basics: NavMesh movement, freelook camera and a simple grab/drop mechanics.

next up: Implementing a way to examine the books closer and making them look a bit better.
