I love Oakland and I work at its schools- I just wish my kids had access to a more solid foundation of education

My niece went to OSA, charter school be great for music or writing and the arts.

This (education) is personal for me.
I was born and raised in Mass
But got together, here in CA with my SO and we’re raising our kids here in - as well as- I work in the public school system and it’s pretty much a travesty.

Most of that money is probably from immigrants. Our crops, our sunshine, the Our Silicon Valley - the immigrants.

OUSD is 100 million under, Teachers are planning to strike (again) for another raise and so may the SEIU (clerical staff)
we have too many under enrolled schools and too few students.
our education here in Oakland pretty much sucks!
