GAME OVER: $25k+ of tech stolen from Kent arcade Tens of thousands of dollars worth of vintage video game equipment was stolen from a Kent arcade this week.

KIRO 7 ran an article and two TV pieces on the theft of a box truck full of arcade PCBs, artwork, and machines from my workplace yesterday. If anyone in the Seattle area sees someone offloading a ton of CPS2/NAOMI/Neo Geo PCBs, stuff of that nature, please reach out.

I think what's killing me is Miles MacKenzie feels like the exact name you'd come up with if you wanted to make a pastiche of one of those guys in a game

I'm intentionally keeping a lot of things to myself with this thing just because I think my motivation keeps better when I shut the fuck up about my ideas and let them bottle up but one day in the future I can tell the whole story of how this thing evolved and it'll feel so good

I've just about Ship of Theseus'd my RPG rule system and it's become a lot more unique and personally exciting as a result but I am now left wondering if I've sunk hundreds of hours into something that's for nobody which fucking rules

Watched Virgin Punk in theaters yesterday, seeing Angel's Egg in theaters next week, introducing my friends to Patlabor and getting to revisit the first two movies again soon as a result... Good anime eating this season

Kite & Mezzo both had sci-fi trappings but I think the decision to really embrace the genre stuff here was a good choice. Allows the action sequences to really sing and gives the seedy crime stuff a few more layers, too. Can't wait for the second episode

Gotta see how the rest of the story pans out of course but as of this first episode, I appreciate how much more considered of an approach Umetsu takes to handling abuse in this movie. It's unsettling and still a nasty gut punch but not as overly upsetting as its predecessors

Virgin Punk: Clockwork Girl was great but I was not expecting it to be an actual 30-minute OVA-style episode with a bunch of behind-the-scenes stuff added after the credits to fill out time lol. TBF it was really a pretty cool look at how the sausage gets made so I felt satisfied

Character Action Game Discourse Guys are so funny to me because Game Bro Culture has dictated that if someone has like 1,000+ hours in a game probably designed to last about 50-100 tops they're Experts and not a statistical outlier that developers probably don't care that much about when making them

I'm not gonna say DQ7 uses all that time well but I'm just saying in a world where games are as bloated as they are I could go with some more DQ7s compared to the way they beef them up now

Anyways I kinda get annoyed by this game's reputation being the way it is now in a world where Persona 5 is as long as it is and sucks that much ass but gets to be a genre staple lol
