Had a really enjoyable theological and philosophical discussion with two very nice women from the local Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. They were doing the rounds, and were surprised that I even opened the door to them. Our respective beliefs and opinions were discussed, and mutually respected.

I understand why you question it, but I wonder whether those who are subject to that form of oppression, which itself is inherently violent, both physically and psychologically, can endure, without themselves resorting to violent action as a reaction.

It’s from The Wretched of the Earth

I saw this fantastic painting, ‘𝐴 𝑀𝑎𝑛 𝑖𝑛 𝐴𝑟𝑚𝑜𝑢𝑟’, by Rembrandt, at the Kelvingrove Gallery in Glasgow. It’s amazing how when looking up close at the beautiful shine/light/reflection effect on the armour, each seemingly random brushstroke is revealed.

I was a little older when I first read it. Hugely impactful.
