This week, the UK cancelled a tender for the renewal of a #UKAID programme designed to support the education of girls in South Sudan, Africa's poorest country. The irony that kids won't go to school in a conflict-affected country because we've decided to spend more money on weapons! #BooksNotBombs

At St. Martin in the Fields 'Here I Stand' lecture series, Bishop Mariann Budde was asked about the people of conscience - some of faith - that have been arrested @defendourjuries.bsky.social #LiftTheBan protests.

She said, "I hold them in the highest esteem, we owe them a great debt of gratitude."
