NOTE: To be clear, this result does not remove the principle of jury equity - i.e. the right for jurors to acquit a defendant according to their conscience - but it does mean justice has not been served in the case of the JP Morgan 5.

This decision shows how Labour’s attack on juries could further diminish the chances of receiving fair justice in the courts under a judge.

The appellants are taking advice on an appeal to the Supreme Court.
