i have no idea how modern audio compression works. looking forward to potentially finding out i'm fucking stupid and 1d gaussian optimization is how it already works

today i wonder if an arxiv.org/pdf/2407.01866 -esque approach would work for near-lossless audio compression

it's all signals right? so +1 little toy project for when i have time (unless some academic does it faster)
