Some do an ok job, IMO mostly at masters level when they have to spend less time raising 18 year olds. But there are so many structural issues with games education

I think it's wonderful that there's a lot of well-known and interesting thinkers in the games space these days and we don't necessarily have to only listen to people who had reserved seats at the bar ten years ago.

I am a little disappointed when the conversation is focused around "it's art not porn!" because the adult games devs get very little support but have been dealing with this for far longer, and they've been sounding the alarm for that deplatforming coming for other games (such as LGBTQ+ content).

I have many thoughts about this, one is I can't help but think this is all just shining a light on how games are still being held to wildly different standards than other media like film. I've played very few games like HORSES but watched so many films like it (as a connoisseur of arthouse horror).

BTW you don't need to already be an expert in something to start building community for it. I've been exposed to SO MUCH more horse knowledge since starting TMQ and its communities than ever before.
