As Ukraine marks Holodomor Remembrance Day, mourning millions of victims of Stalin's genocidal famine, it feels as though the Trump administration is happy to give Putin another chance to finish off what Stalin started. Europe should do everything in its power to help Ukraine & defeat Russia.

People need to realize that Russia and Trump are pushing this now not just because of the front and the corruption scandal in Ukraine, but because Ukraine’s deep strikes are hurting Russia’s economy.

Canada, which couldn't be physically closer to the US is vastly different than America and becoming more so every day. Europe, an ocean away, seems to know as little about America as America knows about the rest of the world.

There are parts of US history that are truly inspiring, there are parts that are extremely dark. True of most countries. This whole emotional, identity-obsessed approach to politics ("we are ONE THING“) is delusional and, given what is currently going on, dangerous.

America is vast. That fact in itself has shaped& defined its politics and culture. And it is really far away. Sounds trivial but it matters. I have always thought of myself as an Atlanticist. The current transatlantic rift is shocking. But America was never our Appendix. How arrogant to think that.

Farage can now be easily boxed in to a corner where his only ‘defence’ becomes: “Yes I spouted Kremlin propaganda & Putin worship but, unlike Nathan Gill, I didn’t need bribes to do it.”
