Book cover. TItle: The Witch Roads. Author: Kate Elliott. Over a light purplish and blue background, a trio of towers looms. In the foreground, two rows of animal-headed human-bodied statues create a path. Two small figures stand, on the path, in a patch of golden sunlight. The two farthest statues look human, although whether they are is in question.

Your chance, at last, to preorder the book that reignited my love of writing during a rough period when I wondered if I should just quit.

The Globular Cluster M13 in Hercules. It's basically a giant ball of a few hundred thousand stars, ranging through all the colors stars come in. It's about 22000 light years away. Captured w/my 10" RC telescope, ZWO ASI533MC-P camera and iOptron CEM70 mount

Test shoot result w/my new #astrophotography mount last night. 52 min on M13, the great Globular Cluster in Hercules. No flat frames. It was enough to resolve the "propeller", a faint darker Y-shape to the lower left of the core. Pleased with the photometric color calibration. LOVE the new mount.πŸ”πŸ§ͺ

Fall is here and it’s time for my annual reminder: acorns are edible and I drew a whole zine to teach you how to eat them 🐿️

Kind of wild to me that 9/11 was an event that I saw with my own eyes while I was in law school, and that I smelled the burning every day for 3 months afterwards, but to my kids it's a historical event as far before their births as the JFK assassination is to mine.
