I’m told that Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Chinese Vice Premier He Liefeng will speak by phone today to discuss the ongoing trade negotiations between the United States and China.
I don’t have details on timing or content of the call, but it’s is notable that it is happening.

I wish! Just that a total tech swap out means weeks of logging into things, remembering passwords, redownloading stuff, etc, etc, etc.

No, but we are switching all our tech here and some passwords sit on some devices and not others. It is a very annoying process to reset everything and regain access to 500 apps!

Kugler says the apparent inconsistency is the result of an error made by county tax officials.

A CNBC review of Kugler’s personal financial disclosures and her Maryland state tax records revealed two descriptions of her personal residence that appear to be incompatible with each other.

Kugler also declined to answer the question of whether anyone pressured her to resign.

Kugler declined, through a person authorized to speak on her behalf, to offer a reason for her resignation from the Fed on August 1.

In light of the Lisa Cook fight, an unexplained Fed resignation to President Trump’s advantage two weeks earlier seemed to merit additional reporting.

There could be some shareholders who are concerned about the precedent here, but suing to block it could also deprive the company of a lot of revenue, and shareholders tend to be big fans of revenue.

Yeah, I do wonder if someone could challenge this with a lawsuit on those grounds, but it’s not clear who has standing to sue and who would even want to sue. Nobody has sued on the Tik Tok extension either, afaik.
