The full interview was really interesting, thanks. I'm glad he went with a video. I get that electronic music tends towards anonymity, but it's nice every once in a while to see an artist's face and hear their voice.

And humans look for familiarity in culture at least some of the time. We've been telling the same fables to children for ages. We celebrate familiar plays from ancient Greece, through to Shakespeare, and into modern times. Etc. Traditional music & dance is pervasive.

Also the premise that nature rarely repeats itself is hokum. DNA has repeating elements. Insect bodies have repeating segments. Molecular dynamics can include oscillating patterns. Pulsars and geysers are predictable. Fractals, everywhere in nature, are arguably a form of repetition as well.
