You know, sometimes toxic family relationships don't result in cutting them out of your life right away, sometimes they result in trying to find any excuse you can to delay your departure or break up the visit as regularly as you can for a break from them. Each year we keep creeping closer though.

Holy shit, I turn 21 in 4 days. It's almost 2025, I'm still processing 2019! This doesn't feel real

Does anyone else feel like, not festive? Like, things are decorated, but nothing feels like it's this close to the holidays. Like it still feels months away and not days away. What is this?

Our schools are more geared towards preparing us as a labor force instead of preparing us to live independently as part of society, but it wasn't only like that. I feel like if we went back to that, we would have a far more stable society with more competent and confident adults joining workforce.

It feels weird knowing I only know how to be an adult (cooking, cleaning, mending, basic household maintenance) because I had weird special interests. I was 15 knowing this stuff, most of my friends wouldn't figure it out till after highschool. Why don't we prepare teenagers for adulthood anymore?

We really should bring Home Ec classes back for all students, not just as an optional elective. I just taught myself how to use a sewing machine today, at almost 21 years old. My mom was baffled because she learned how to use one in Home Ec in middleschool.
