A detail of the #madder I have at home. This year I'm planning to harvest the roots π€
In the meantime here are some flowers. They have five petals, but there are some with six!

Remember not to remove lichens from natura to dye, they are very delicate and need years to grow.

I'm very grateful to Antonio RodrΓguez Ruiz, in the first foto, to also Antonio and Carmen for organizing it. These beautiful mats, and tablecloths are theirs.
And, of course, to Museo a mano / @museodeltraje, too!
And so I spent yesterday's morning, making a 'roseta', a type of lace from Canary Islands, at Museo del Traje for World Wide Knit in Public Day 2025.

Thanks! The first link is 404, and all this is for the data USA-NPN already have, but I was speaking of formatting my own data to share it in a standard format, so anyother can use it, if they wanted to. But as of your answers I'm supposing there is not such a scientific standard. Still searching!
30.04.2025 10:38 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Maps are a great resource to visualize, but I was thinking on raw data, so I can share and others could use for their analysis...
29.04.2025 19:35 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Is there any standard to share this data, once is recorded?
29.04.2025 18:39 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0no idea, I don't know if flax could thrive in a soil like that.
Other possibility is that maybe you can try on a big pot with new soil...
Just 100 days (aprox.) It's a easy crop, I think, only make sure it has a constant watering.

Is someone into phenology? This year I'm growing flax again in a pot, but also taking notes about their growing. I'm using this sheet in case you'd like to join, comment, discuss, etc:

24.03.2025 07:02 β π 20 π 6 π¬ 0 π 0if you are (still) in facebook there is a group of gardening dye plants: www.facebook.com/groups/growi...
So you can ask which ones can be grown in your area. There are always native plants to dye, but not always known.
Some plants are very easy to grow, others are even pretty
You only need some space, and growm them in pots is not the best choice, but it's what I have at hand now...
I didn't even think of it, but this link seems quite nice: www.ravelry.com/projects/Fle...
