Nothing is more #disappointing than finding an #orange that looks fine on the inside, and you peel it to find it’s dried up on the inside. Almost like the people that say we are “fine” don’t see our invisible #disabilities.

#HealthCanada has sent out an e-Notice saying that #Acetaminophen, sold under the brand #Tylenol, does not cause autism.

Message from tylenol.com that reads: “We stand with science, and we stand with you. For generations, families have trusted TYLENOL® when it matters most. Tylenol is one of the most studied medications in history—and is safe when used as directed by expecting mothers, infants, and children. The facts remain unchanged: over a decade of rigorous research, endorsed by leading medical professionals, confirms there is no credible evidence linking acetaminophen to autism. Acetaminophen is used worldwide as a first line of defence for pain relief and fever reduction, at the recommendation of independent public health and leading medical professionals and in accordance with the product label. High fevers and pain are widely recognized as potential risks to a pregnancy if left untreated, especially in the first trimester. Remember to talk to your doctor. We prioritize science as the core of how we provide care, and that will never change.”

#Tylenol just put this message on their website following yesterday’s announcement by #RFK spreading misinformation on #autism.

You know what’s disgusting? When a #Facebook group that is way newer than mine gets 7x the amount of members, and it’s all just #AI-generated #puzzlepiece #slop rather than actual #neurodivergent #advocacy.

Autism advocacy and activism must make space for mental health. Silencing someone who is responding in panic or in other extreme ways happens far too often, and I am calling it out because it has to stop.

It is September and Disability Employment Month celebrates disabled workers, but self-employed disabled individuals are often overlooked. They face limited funding, little recognition and few tailored supports. Programs exist, but one-on-one guidance, microgrants and practical mentorship are needed.

Connecting with others can feel overwhelming as an autistic person. Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria, miscommunication, and negativity bias can make neutral reactions feel like disapproval.

Yup

Very sad to hear #Colorado dumped #mail-in #voting. This will make it harder for those with #disabilities to #vote. Clearly a way to stop #progressives from voting.

TW: Discusses trauma and overwhelm. From my autistic perspective, shutdown is not a choice but a survival response. When someone pressures me, misreads my words, or expects instant reactions, my nervous system takes over.

If an Autistic person is dealing with burnout, and they're unmasked and letting you know that:
1) being on a video call causes anxiety
2) they don't have the bandwidth to talk to anyone
3) they don't have the bandwidth for interpersonal relationships
