This is a lovely idea - it's marvellous to have focused reasons to take a moment to really watch. Bats often flit between the semis and I startled the hoggie while putting out food the other night. And don't forget Butterfly Conservation's Big Butterfly Count is also on atm too! #GoodGreenNews

Here is a very cool piebald Ethiopian epauletted fruit bat (Epomophorus labiatus) that we caught last month in Lilongwe, Malawi! πŸ¦‡

Piebaldism is a rare genetic condition caused by the absence of melonocytes in certain patches of skin and fur.

Pests An engrossing and revealing study of why we deem certain animals β€œpests” and others notβ€”from cats to rats, elephants to pigeonsβ€”and what this tells us about...

I don't know who needs to hear this but I wrote a book about why we hate some animals so very, very much.

And also why we LOVE some animals...even when they cause some of the same problems as the animals we love to hate!

Anyway it's on sale. www.harpercollins.com/products/pes...

Good example of a healing bat wing membrane. New white skin forming around the holes. Eventually they will close up completely but the skin will always be paler in those areas.
